Simone P. Joyaux, ACFRE has broad national and international experience in the philanthropic profession — as a consultant, volunteer, writer and teacher/presenter.

Ms. Joyaux provides consulting services in fund development, board and organizational development, and strategic planning to all types and sizes of organizations located around the U.S. and in other countries. Clients include environment, education, arts and humanities, health, human service, advocacy, associations, foundations, and government.

With more than 25 years experience in the nonprofit, nongovernmental sector, Ms. Joyaux has served as staff and board member. She has worked as a chief development officer and executive director. She serves on local, national and international boards and has extensive experience as a board chair.

Ms. Joyaux is a frequent teacher and keynote presenter around the world. She also serves as a faculty member for the Masters Program in Philanthropy and Development at St. Mary's University, Minnesota.

Ms. Joyaux is one of a few hundred professionals worldwide who has achieved advanced certification in fundraising. She is the author of Strategic Fund Development: Building Profitable Relationships That Last.

During her tenure as Chair of CFRE International, the baseline certification program for fundraisers worldwide, the program achieved its independence and established itself internationally. In 2000, Simone founded the Women's Fund of Rhode Island, part of the global movement to achieve equity and justice for women and girls.

She is the recipient of the 2003 Rhode Island Outstanding Philanthropic Citizen Award and the 1987 Fundraising Executive of the Year Award for Rhode Island.
