William R. Schmiedicke, CFRE is President of Monaghan Associates, Inc., a regional fund raising consulting firm providing a full range of development services including: resource audits/feasibility studies annual fundraising strategies; capital campaign counsel and management; endowment development; communication needs; staff development/volunteer training; and development support services.
Monaghan Associates, Inc. was incorporated in 1983. Mr. Schmiedicke joined the firm in 1984 following his 10-year career in higher education as an Assistant Principal at Catholic Central School and Community Education Administrator for the Grand Rapids Public Schools. During the past decade, Monaghan Associates has assisted nearly 300 institutions, agencies, and organizations in the planning and execution of fund development strategies that resulted in approximately $750,000,000 raised.
During his 25 years in the fund raising arena, Mr. Schmiedicke has been actively involved both as a speaker at national seminars and as Board member for the National Society of Fund Raising Executives (NSFRE) and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). Mr. Schmiedicke has received the designation of CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, a distinction bestowed upon a fund raising professional who has exhibited the highest proficiency and knowledge of the fund raising practice. He is a frequent speaker at state and national meetings concerned with the process of successful fund development and conducts serminars for United Way agencies, community college organizations, and various not-for-profit associations throughout the country.
Mr. Schmiedicke hosts degrees from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo.
