Designs in Development, Inc., is in its eighteenth year of service to the non-profit sector with a mission to help organizations to grow. The firm provides a full range of services from strategic planning and executive search to campaign consultation, development audits and major gift program design. Designs in Development has worked with organizations of varying size and from a wide-range of charitable interests including arts and culture, education, healthcare, disability, human services and economic development.

Nancy L. Brown, ACFRE, MBA, ACFRE, president and chief counsel for the firm, has almost 30 years of fundraising experience. She is past president of Florida's largest AFP chapter and was recognized as their Fund Raising Executive of the Year in 1994. She speaks nationally on philanthropy and conducts workshops on fundraising, board development and management topics. In addition to having authored and published the audio workshop, Increasing Board Effectiveness, Nancy has developed ten day-long curricula for training boards, staff, and volunteers. She has taught fundraising in the Masters of Public Administration Program and in the Non-Profit Management Certificate Program at the University of South Florida, and has served on the adjunct faculty of the Fund Raising School at Indiana University and at St. Petersburg Junior College.

Firm associates Terri Goldstein, CFRE, Stacy Carlson, Ed.M. and Sherry Lynn Smith have expertise in annual giving, capital campaigns, grant research and preparation, donor systems, direct mail, planned giving and board retreats. The firm provides training services nationally and serves the Southeast, especially Florida, through consultation.
