About Us

The Association of Philanthropic Counsel is a national association with members from across the country. APC members are the principals/CEOs and senior staff of small and medium sized consulting firms whose clients are nonprofit organizations.

APC members are highly entrepreneurial in nature, and they are seasoned professionals (15+ years on average) in the nonprofit management and fundraising fields. Our firms are counseling capital and other fundraising campaigns that encompass millions of dollars being raised for institutions both large and small. Our members are also involved in board training and development, strategic planning and communication services for nonprofits.

APC was founded in 1996 by a group of consultants in Florida who were committed to asserting the professionalism and role of smaller consulting firms in the life of the nonprofit sector. Since that time the association has seen tremendous growth and development.

APC members gather regularly for education opportunities that help them better serve clients and more effectively run their businesses. They share perspectives on how to deliver services and equip themselves with knowledge and information that increases their value to clients.
